The First Day of Christmas

Day 1 - Christmas Decorations

I absolutely LOVE Christmas Decorations. It is very fitting that I am writing this post a day late, because tonight is the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree!!  :))  I will be in New York in 18 days and I absolutely CANNOT wait to see it in person.  It is just breathtakingly gorgeous. Photos to come, of course!!

my class tree!

Now this is no Rockefeller Center tree, but this is my class tree and I am just as happy with it! We trimmed it today! :)  Notice Paul McCartney in the middle ;) I can't think of a more purposeful activity than trimming a tree! Besides all of the upper extremity range of motion necessary to do so, the spiritual component is huge! I don't know who can't smile while decorating a Christmas tree :)

This is my class with our tree! Love these people :)

This is our tree at home, already surrounded by tons of presents! ;)  Kristi and I bought this bow last year, and I absolutely love it as a tree topper!  I think it is a cute and modern idea compared to a normal star or angel!  I also love our all white artificial tree, it makes the colors we used to decorate really pop! The green and red and glitter ornaments really finish it off.  (It isn't a real tree that I'm used to with my family and it doesn't have the fabulous smell, but for a fake tree it sure does look sharp!) ;)

Now these are really cute,  and so cheap and easy to make! Taking thing from nature, putting them in a $1 basket from the dollar store, and adding a small string of lights!  This one has pine cones and potpourri and I think they are just so festive and fun! (plus they make the house smell delicious!)

There is nothing I enjoy more than driving around and looking at all of the lights! I've never seen anything more beautiful than a certain neighborhood in Greensboro last year, where every tree was filled with different colored balls of lights.  It was just beautiful!

I love Christmas!!

I'm baaaack!

"When I get home I shall write a book about this place
...if I ever do get home.
-Alice in Wonderland

I left you all on a bad note. A really bad note. I was in a bad place and then I stopped blogging. I'm sorry. I'm going to try to redeem myself and give this blog an extreme makeover.

First, I have joined a new challenge over at The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans:

I have 7 beautiful and amazing ladies for teammates, I'm linking up their blogs so go check them out!

Now, in True Confessions Tuesday fashion,

  1. I've been substituting meals with coffee. I realize this is dumb, but I can't drink coffee and eat without wanting to puke.
  2. i've gained 3 lbs since the Shrinkvivor challenge. Am I incapable of losing weight, or at least maintaining when I'm not being challenged? sheesh!
  3. Thanksgiving is 2 days away. I'm ready to eat. (I'm doomed)
  4. I've been journaling and making lists of reasons I should smile. (Self-medicating, to say the least.) I've been smiling a lot lately :D
  5. Call me crazy but I've discovered RideShare on Craig's List (essentially virtual hitch-hiking) and I've found a ride home for Christmas. I guess this is my police tip if I get chopped to pieces and thrown on the side of I95north.

Well! I'll end on that note. ;)
Cheers!
